CAST-UT 2001 Annual Conference Report

The Fifth Annual Meeting of CAST-UT was successfully held at Shanghai Garden, Sandy, Utah, on December 22, 2001. Over 90 people joined the meeting. Around 12 guests were invited from local
government and Chinese associations. Dr. Feng Liu gave a speech entitled "CAST-UT Fifth Annual 
Report". Congressmen Jim Matheson, Director of Asian Affair Committee, Mr. Moon Ji, and Advisor of CAST-UT, Dr. Chen Hengda, joined the meeting and delivered addresses. Dr. Taowen Le reported on CAST-USA annual meeting briefly. Many congratulation letters were received from Chinese Embassy in the USA, CAST-USA, and the other chapters and societies.

There were 6 members becoming lifetime members just before our annual meeting. These 6 members are: Dr. Tangsheng Peng, Dr. Taowen Le, Dr. Weili Chen, Mr. Jimmy Lu, Mr. Hua Sheng, and Dr. Feng Liu.

During the meeting new BOD members of CAST-UT were elected. After the meeting, Dr. Taowen Le was elected as president of CAST-UT for 2002, Dr. Xiquan Dong was elected as vice president, and Mr. Hao Zhu was elected as Secretary. Based on by-law of CAST-USA, Dr. Xiquan Dong was appointed as non-elected BOD member of CAST-USA for year 2002. New responsibilities for 
BOD members were assigned.

CAST-UT made great achievement in 2001 and over past five years. Dr. Feng Liu summarized those in his annual report presented to CAST-USA annual meeting.
