2002 Chinese New Year Party

Dear CAST-Utah members:

Happy Chinese New Year!

On behalf of CAST-Utah (Chinese Association for Science and Technology, Utah Chapter) BOD committee, I would like to invite you and your family members to join us to celebrate traditional Chinese Spring Festival, which will be organized by 12 local Chinese associations the coming Friday, February 1, 2002. Please see the details in the notice sent by Dr. Dong Xiquan.

Where: Ballroom of Union, in UU, free parking
When: 7:30 PM, Friday, February 1, 2002
Activities: Performance, dancing, meeting your friends, and more

This party will invite leaders and members from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China as well as from China’s Winter Olympic Delegation. The party will also invite leaders and members of the Utah State government as well as other U.S. organizations. China’s CCTV host Yang Dong will be co-conducting the program.

We sincerely invite you to attend this party. Since media representatives from both China and the U.S. will be invited to cover this historical Olympic and New Year party, we would expect everyone that attends the party to observe the basic rule of reverence (remaining seated and maintaining silence when the program is in session) so as to maintain a positive image of the Chinese population in Utah. For your convenience, we will be providing free baby-sitting to those who have young children..

For your information, the joint sponsors of the Friday, February 1 New Year Party include:
The Chinese Association for Science & Technologies in Utah (CAST-UT)
The United Chinese Association in Utah
The Oriental Chinese School in Salt Lake City
